Childhood is often described as a time of innocence, yet many of the messages that shape us begin long before we understand them.

Band Class explores the way labels, expectations, and experiences can influence identity from an early age. Three children occupy a playful environment filled with toys, blocks, drawings, and bright colors. Behind them, however, a wall of graffiti-like words, symbols, and messages looms large, suggesting the unseen influences that surround us as we grow.
